As a joyful “always singing” community (“Toujours Chantante”), Chéticamp invites you to tune into incredible local Acadian fiddle music. Musical talents are widely broadcast on the French-speaking CKJM Community Radio at 106.1 FM. You’ll also get an update on local news and cultural events by listening to  quality shows and broadcasts.

Treat yourself to the rising and state-of-the-art Acadian talent by attending an amazing musical, dance and theatre show at the Chéticamp Arts Council a non-profit organization founded in 1999 providing a high-quality program of animation, and dedicated to preserving the region’s rich heritage of Acadian artistic expression.

Experience Vibrant Traditions

Embark on a fabulous discovery of the vibrant and authentic Acadian traditions by exploring Les Trois Pignons, with its world renowned collection of hooked rugs; the playfully named “Proud to Be Lola’s Hookers” hooked-rug boutique also showcases some of the absolute finest local talent in handcrafted rug hooking, enjoy watching how intricate designs are woven right before your eyes!

Mi-Carême centre

Another Acadian culture gem to discover is the whimsically quirky Mi-Carême Interpretive Centre, nestled on the wild shores of the Cabot Trail and overlooking the peaceful Grand-Étang harbour. The Centre’s team of passionate and joyful mi-carêmes (disguised interpretive guides) invites you to immersive cultural experiences, uncovering the amusing facets of this beloved local carnivalesque tradition, which dates all the way back to the French Middle Ages!

Quench your curiosity with more local Acadian cultural celebrations such as the Festival de l'Escaouette in Summer and the Mi-Carême Festival at the end of winter.
