Chapelle à Pointe à Major 4

Pointe-à-Major Chapel and Cemetery

Did you know that since 1892 the Acadian chapel “La petite chapelle” still stands at the historic site at Pointe-à-Major? This reverent place is also the location of the Pointe-à-Major Cemetery, the site of the first recorded burial of Acadians families who arrived here in 1770. In fact, the only stone marker in the little cemetery is that of Marie Doucet who passed away in 1771.
