Wedgeport Tuna Museum
Did you know that the Alton B. Sharp Cup is the 5th oldest trophy in international sport?
In 1949, a grand total of 72 bluefin tuna were caught during the International Tuna Cup Match. The 30,161 pounds of tuna was an amazing feet and the winning team was awarded the the Alton B. Sharp Cup!
In 1977, the International Tuna Cup Match was canceled due to dwindling tuna stocks and altered fish migrations. 28 years later in 2004, the Wedgeport Tuna Tournament was launched and continues to grow each year!

Pointe-à-Major Chapel and Cemetery
Did you know that since 1892 the Acadian chapel “La petite chapelle” still stands at the historic site at Pointe-à-Major? This reverent place is also the location of the Pointe-à-Major Cemetery, the site of the first recorded burial of Acadians families who arrived here in 1770. In fact, the only stone marker in the little cemetery is that of Marie Doucet who passed away in 1771.

Did you know the name "La Picasse" is a symbolic name for ‘Center’ which serves as an anchor for the survival of French and for Acadian culture in the community?
Built in 1996, La Picasse, the Cultural Community Center offers various services in French to the local Acadian community, including a theater, banquet and reception hall with catering service, meeting rooms, a craft store, and a genealogy center.
