Leaving Digby, turn left onto NS-101 W toward Weymouth/Yarmouth. Take exit 28 for NS-1 toward NS-340 / Belliveau’s Cove / Grosses Coques / Church Point. Turn right on Trunk Nova Scotia 1W / NS-1W to begin your exploration of Saint Mary’s Bay.

Day 5 - Your visit of the capital city of Nova Scotia - Halifax!

The South Shore of Nova Scotia offers captivating views of the sea and beaches all the way to Halifax along the scenic route. Follow Highway 103 and take the time to visit the exits along the shore on your way to Halifax. Some suggested stops: Summerville Beach, LaHave at Bridgewater, Lunenburge (UNESCO site), Mahone Bay, Chester, Hubbards, and Peggy’s Cove.

Travelling from Halifax, take NS-102 and Trans-Canada Hwy/NS-104 E continue until your arrival to Antigonish, taking 35 exit, Taylors Rd following by Pomquet Monks Head Rd to Pomquet Beach Road, arriving to your first destination of Pomquet Beach Provincial Park and other sites you may want to visit during your stop.
Continuation to Isle Madame – Night Stays 7 & 8
Travel distance: 98 km (from New Brunswick Border to your first destination Pomquet)
Travel time: 1 hour and 20 minutes
Travel back on the Trans-Canada Highway/NS-104 E. Follow NS-104 E to Fleur-de-lis Trail/Louisedale Connector/NS-320 E in Richmond, Subd. A. Take Exit 46 from NS-104. Continue on Fleur-de-lis Trail/NS-320 E to your destination in Isle Madame.

Day 9 – Visit of the Fortress of Louisbourg and continuing through the Cabot Trail

Travel time: 2 hours and 15 minutes
Leaving Isle Madame, take Highway 104 towards St. Peter's and continue on until the highway becomes Highway 4. Watch for signage for Highway 125 towards Sydney, which will take you to Exit 8. This exit is on Route 22 which will take you to the village of Louisbourg. Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site is a short distance from the village.
9th Night’s stay – Along the Cabot trail
Follow Louisbourg Highway and NS-125 W to Trans-Canada Hwy/NS-105W to your evenings stop. Travel time: 2 hours and 15 minutes
Leaving Isle Madame, take Highway 104 towards St. Peter's and continue on until the highway becomes Highway 4. Watch for signage for Highway 125 towards Sydney, which will take you to Exit 8. This exit is on Route 22 which will take you to the village of Louisbourg. Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site is a short distance from the village.
9th Night’s stay – Along the Cabot trail
Follow Louisbourg Highway and NS-125 W to Trans-Canada Hwy/NS-105W to your evenings stop. Day 10 – Continuing along the Cabot Trail with your arrival in Chéticamp, your destination for nights 10 & 11
Travel distance: 200 km*
Travel time: 6 to 12 hours including frequent stops along the Cabot Trail.* (*based on departure from Englishtown – Travel distance and times will vary depending where you begin today’s journey). This winding road with frequent climbs and descents, has lookouts overlooking spectacular views. A journey of 6 to 12 hours is expected to appreciate its splendor.
Continue your travel along the Cabot Trail, one of the most beautiful scenic drives in the world! You will have the day to explore along the Cabot Trail with your final evening destination being the Acadian Region of Cheticamp. (This itinerary has you spending two nights in Cheticamp, leaving your entire 11th day to explore the region).

Follow Cabot Trail, NS-395 S and NS-105 W to Trans-Canada Hwy/NS-104 in Port Hastings. Follow Trans-Canada Hwy/NS-104, NS-102 S and NS-101 to Nova Scotia Trunk 1 W in Grand Pré. Take Exit 10 for Nova Scotia Trunk 1 towards Grand Pré / Hortonville, follow the signs to Grand-Pré National Historic Site.

Travel time: 4 hours and 45 minutes
Follow Cabot Trail, NS-395 S and NS-105 W to Trans-Canada Hwy/NS-104 in Port Hastings. Follow Trans-Canada Hwy/NS-104, NS-102 S and NS-101 to Nova Scotia Trunk 1 W in Grand Pré. Take Exit 10 for Nova Scotia Trunk 1 towards Grand Pré / Hortonville, follow the signs to Grand-Pré National Historic Site.
Day 13 – The beautiful and historic Annapolis Valley

Travel time: 1 hour and 12 minutes
When leaving Wolfville, merge onto NS-101 W toward Kentville/Yarmouth. Take exit 20 for Nova Scotia Trunk 1 W toward Bridgetown/Upper Granville. Then follow Nova Scotia Trunk 1 W to Annapolis Royal.

Travel time: 1 hour and 12 minutes
